Jeffco Girls Softball Flag Ceremony, May 18 – confirmed thus far are Jonah W. and Makai G. Let me know if you plan to join them.
NYLT Bighorn – Week 1 is full and Week 2 is getting close. SM Cottingham, ASM’s Davis, Nielson, & Graybill (Not Attorney’s) are adult staff for week 5. Click Here to sign up.
All scouts attending NYLT Bighorn must attend one of 3 orientation dates (one has already happened). The remaining meetings are:
• May 22; 7:00-9:00 pm
• June 1; 9:00am-Noon
New patrol patches, 2012 Journey to Excellence patches and name tags have been issued. We don’t have replacement patches so get them on your uniform ASAP so they aren’t lost.
Please respond to Mrs. Suchey if she has contacted you regarding your Medical Forms.
Cub Scout Day Camp has asked we collect empty, clean 2 liter bottles. Please bring them to troop.
Gateway District is looking for Cub Scout Day Camp volunteers June 11-14 teaching all kinds of scouting skills. They need scouts to take any slots from 3p – 8p, a 2 hour slot each day would be great but help anytime is appreciated. Email wendyannette73@gmail.com if interested and Cc: SM Cottingham. Volunteering qualifies for community service.

Parent Planning Meeting Changes

The executive committee met recently and made the recommendation the Parent Planning meetings be held on an every-other-month basis. Given that, we will plan to meet on the 2nd Monday in the odd months and plan to skip the month of July. We hope this will make our meetings more meaningful and take less of your valuable time. Please feel free to provide any feedback.

The biggest priority is arranging your physicals as all scouts and leaders are required to have annual physicals. The new med form can be found under the Forms tab – Parts A,B & C must be completed.

Youth Protection Training

Why is YPT (article link) so important? Because a safe environment is best achieved when everyone is trained and fully aware, whether explicitly required or not. Troop 21 and BSA take this seriously and so should you.

Training can be done quickly online; go to myscouting.org and log-in or create an account. Upon completion, give a copy of your YPT certificate to the Troop 21 Training Coordinator: Marla Gordon.
